Summer 2008 Alice and Media Computation Workshops

The current plan is to run two workshops of 60 people each:
July 27-30 in Las Vegas
August 10-13 in Orlando

The workshops will include material for a merged course on Alice and Media Computation. Alice is a
drag-and-drop environment from CMU for learning to program while creating 3D movies and games. For
more information on Alice see http://www.alice.org and http://www.aliceprogramming.net/.
Media Computation is teaching computing concepts by having students write Java programs
that manipulate media: mirror an image, reverse a sound, make a movie out of frames. For more
information on Media Computation see http://coweb.cc.gatech.edu/mediaComp-plan/101.

You must have Java experience to attend these workshops!

To register for either of these workshops contact Barbara Conover at bconover@sju.edu.
