Assignments/Evaluation

Class Project - 50% of final grade

Details will be discussed with the professors on an individual basis.

Participation - 30% of final grade

Personal Notebook (PN):
Students are required to keep a personal notebook for tracking concepts, questions and progress. Details for how the notebook should be used will be covered in class. On occasion you may be given questions to address in your personal notebook.

Follow a link:
You will find that the "text" readings often have links to various websites. Each week you must go to a link that seems interesting and write about it in your PN and be prepared to discuss it in class. If no link is provided for the week's reading Google some topic that seems interesting.

Class Reflection Notebook (CRN):
You will be asked to document discussion questions/open questions for each reading assignment. In addition for every class, students are required to write three things gained from the day's class. This should not be a repeat of what is said in class, rather three gems that you were able to glean from coming to class.

Research Review Reports - 20% of final grade

We will be reading a set of "lay" articles on ASD. You will be asked to trace some material presented in the article back to its scholarly source. You will be asked to write up a report on the accuracy with which the findings from the scholarly article were represented in the lay publication. You are responsible for 3 such reports.
