Projects
CCL projects are organized around two themes:
| Game AI |
AI agents for interactive games (RTS games, interactive drama) |
| Decision Support |
Web 2.0 agents for decision support (digital health/bio/medical, intelligence analysis) |

CURRENT PROJECTS
Second Mind: Cognitive Models for Second Life Avatars
Second Mind is investigating cognitive models for Second Life avatars that let them interact autonomously with other avatars. The interaction is human-like, driven by models of emotion, social behaviors, personality, goals, etc. This project involves AI/cognitive modeling, Second Life interface, and UI/UX aspects to let people interact with and customize their avatars' behaviors and personalities.

D2: Teachable AI for RTS games
D2 is creating real-time case-based reasoning algorithms for real-time strategy games such as Warcraft. These algorithms enable the game AI to play strategically and learn from experience. This project involves AI, case-based reasoning, planning and machine learning, along with Internet protocols to interface with game engines.

Deep Green: Crystal Ball
Crystal Ball (Deep Green) is a DARPA project to develop a CBR system that learn to predict the utility and flexibility of futures in courses-of-action simulations for a commander's associate application. It uses knowledge of strategic, political and social systems. This project requires strong Java skills and a background in AI / ML / CBR / Game AI algorithms. Must be US citizen or permanent resident.

GILA: Generalized Integrated Learning Architecture
GILA integrates multiple integrated-learning-and-reasoning (ILR) agents for strategic problems. It is being applied to airspace mission planning and real-time strategy games. This project requires strong Java skills and a background in AI / ML / CBR algorithms. Our work focuses on CBL/R (case-based learning and reasoning) and MRE-ML (meta-reasoning executive: meta-learning), and is part of a large DARPA-funded project across several universities.

Inquus: Inquiry Nexus
Inquus provides online collaboration technologies for students to meet and study together. This project requires Web 2.0 UI/UX design and implementation using Flex, Flash, GWT, PHP, or similar toolkits. Inquus is entering commercialization phase and is being spun out as a startup company via Georgia Tech's VentureLabs.
