A quiet day overall, a busy work day for me. I had three conference calls (with Thom McClean on UG technology issues, with Tucker, Deepak, and Doug on the Robotics Institute, and with Tom Pilsch on more undergrad issues), grading, final exam completion, etc.
Biggest event for the day: I accidentally put bread in the microwave for 20 minutes instead of 20 seconds. In only nine minutes, the house was full of smoke and the fire alarms were blaring. (You'd think that bread should be more inflammable than that–I think it's a safety issue. Ralph Nader, are you reading?) The house still smells of smoke. (i'm so embarassed...)
Kids slept in late and were hard to get moving. It was rainy and cold.
