4 August 2006On Friday, we headed into London at the 10-ish bus. We got in around 11:30 at the Baker Street station and had a typically British KFC lunch. Then we walked over to Madame Tussaud's.
And were totally amazed at the length of the line! Barb figured out that we could call (we brought our European cell phone with us) and schedule a ticket. I got five tickets at 3 pm for 75 pounds (about $150). It was just after 1 pm then, so we decided to walk twoard the London Zoo through Regents Park.

When we got to the zoo, it was about 1:30. We'd have to leave at 2:30 to get to Madame Tussaud's in time. The London Zoo is really expensive – it would have cost us 70 pounds for the five of us to visit for an hour. That was totally unreasonable, so we decided against it – with a very bummed Katie as a result.
So instead, we took a long walk through the Park. We stopped at a playground for awhile, where Matt took Jenny for a fly. (Yes, it did end with Jenny catching a seat in her chin.)
They were setting up for some kind of festival – with Krispy Kremes as a sponsor!
This is a drinking fountain – and cow watering trough. Seriously!

Madame Tussaud's was about 90 minutes. Barb had a great idea–let's go take a boat tour on the Thames.

We had dinner at an Italian Place near Victoria Station then headed for the bus and back to Oxford.
