Announcement to read in class:

"The 2010 Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing is going to be held in Atlanta this Fall, September 28 through October 2. It's the largest technical conference for women in computing, with world-class speakers from industry, academia, and government. It's time to submit your great ideas for the conference! They're looking for ideas for panels, workshops, Birds of a Feather sessions (meetings of like-minded and like-interested people), papers, and posters. There's a special PhD Forum for Ph.D. students. Please visit http://gracehopper.org/2010/ for information on how to submit your ideas – due MARCH 16!"

  • It is the largest technical conference for women in computing.
  • It focuses on the research and career interests of women.
  • It provides a supportive and uplifting network for women in technology from all around the world,
  • and a platform to discuss the role of women in today’s technology fields.
  • The conference presenters are leaders in their fields, representing industry, academia and government.
Registration opens June 1. Super Early Bird registration rates end July 8. Early Bird registration ends September 9. There are Student Scholarships available, but you must apply between March 8 and May 14. Students can also volunteer (called "Hoppers") to get full conference registration.
