15 July 2006Barbara is here! I got up several times during the night to check on her flight. Jenny got up at 5:50 am to ask me what time it was. I got everyone up in time, and the girls finished their banner for Mommy while I ran up to Sainsbury for some fresh roses for Katie to hand her as she got off the bus. At 9:45, I checked at the bus stop. Ittook 2 to 2.5 hours to get in from Gatwick, and figuring that the earliest bus she could take was the 8:15 am (turned out to be the 8:20 am – I was wrong there), we had until 10:15 am. At 10:15 am, I had just got all the kids shoes on and was heading to the door.
At 10:15 am, our doorbell rang. Everything had gone early and Barb had got in at 10:10 am and walked all the way over hauling her suitcases herself. She was not too happy with us! She still let us hug her and kiss her and bring out her banner and give her some roses.

After lunch of Sainsbury chicken tikka massala, we wandered the college grounds.
We ended up at the Museum of the History of Science for awhile. Here's Matthew checking out a clock made in 1670.
We went to the Radcliffe Arms for dinner – less expensive than most pubs around here, nice garden room. Mommy was pretty exhausted at this point, but she still wanted to play soccer (!), so we played for about an hour. We took her up for G&D ice cream, then everyone went to bed.
