Grandma's Poppy Seed Pie


250 gPoppy seeds (ground)
50 gGrits (ground)
100 gSugar
50 g Raisins
0.25 LMilk
0.25 LWater
1Pie crust (pre-baked)


  1. Soak raisins in rum for about 1 hour.
  2. Grind the poppy seeds and the grits.
  3. In a pot, mix poppy seeds, grits, sugar, milk, and water. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.
  4. Whisk one egg until it is foamy and integrate into the custard.
  5. Add raisins and rum.
  6. Fill into pie shell and bake for 30 minutes at 375 F
  7. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
  8. [optional] Add a sugar and rum glaze

Note: A drug test may indicate a false positive after consuming some of this pie.
