Leaving a message for a professor at his door
If a student arrives at the office only to find the door closed, a message can be left for the professor by touching the “Leave me a message” button. This changes the display to one of pre-authored messages or the chance to leave a different message.
By selecting a pre-authored message the screen changes to one of a virtual keyboard with the selected message field filled out.
By touching the name field and using the virtual keyboard, the student can add their name to the message. If the person has used SteppedAway before, their name is remembered. This allows the person to enter the first few letters of their name and then select the completed name from a list of people that the system recognizes.
Once the message and name have been entered, touching “Send It” will send the message, a thank you confirmation message is briefly displayed and the screen returns to the “The Dr. is OUT’ screen.
