Current Status

I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in the College of Computing at Georgia Tech where I am working on my dissertation research. I intend to graduate in the spring of 2005. I will then be applying for research and teaching positions in academic institutions.

Designing socio-technical systems to support learners as they engage in learning through design projects. Supporting student engagement with an open-ended design tool for learning. Advisor: Dr. Janet Kolodner.

Graduate Research Assistant
Worked with research team to plan and execute a new version of software to support case-based science learning. Specifically, I focused on designing an indexing scheme to help learners organize their cases for future reference. Advisor: Dr. Janet Kolodner.

Computing Research Association - Distributed Mentor Project -

Worked on an application to trace user events and system calls on the PalmIII in order to understand more about power consumption and user needs in mobile computing. Mentor: Dr. Carla Ellis.

Researched user needs and implemented a new user interface for the Virtual Notebook Environment (ViNE) project, an electronic notebook designed with an emphasis on the cognitive scientist's needs. My research focused on the navigation of the notebook environment and involved creating and conducting user tests. Mentor: Dr. Janice Cuny
