To study the development of
1) scientific reasoning skills
3) reasoning with science content and models
To develop theories about the trajectories that underlie the development of scientific reasoning and identity development in upper elementary school aged learners.
To develop and study learning environments based on constructivist and socio-constructivist theories of learning and design of learning environments to support learning. To contribute back to this literature through refinements to theory and reports of practical application and integration of these theories.
